Kuniyoshi's Samurai

The title of this book just about says it all. "101 nice Samurai Prints" is precisely what you get, all by Utagawa Kuniyoshi, one in all the last nice masters of the japanese kind of woodblock printing called Ukiyo-e, which means photos of the Floating World.
Kuniyoshi was an apprentice of Utagawa Toyokuni, though he surpassed his master in each talent and fame. Kuniyoshi initial rose to fame for his portrayal of heroic characters, like his series "One hundred and eight heroes of the favored Suikoden all told" based mostly on the Chinese book "Water Margins."
